A classic tour is the one that runs alongside the lakefront. If you walk along the lakefront from the German side, you can stop in Lindau connected to the mainland by two bridges and on the border between Germany, Austria and Switzerland: it houses lovely gardens decorated with flowers. Then you can pass through Friedrichhafen, famous for its Zeppelin airships that were once built here. Finally you meet Konstanz, where you can take a relaxing walk through the city center before sitting in some typical restaurant.

If you want to venture out on an excursion to the islands of the lake, you must plan at least a full day. Mainau Island is a well-known tourist destination known for its mild climate that favors the growth of a rich and varied vegetation that populates colorful gardens and also a beautiful tropical greenhouse where you can admire different species of butterflies. The Reichenau Island, on the other hand, is famous for its three Romanesque churches built between the 9th and 11th centuries, all to be admired.

Your vacation has reached its last stop. If you have some time before taking the return flight, you can take one last walk to Konstanz. Breathe its unique air, observe the lines of its buildings and admire again what has struck you most about this city to impress it in your mind, perhaps helping you with some souvenirs that portray it. Then all that remains is to deliver the rental car and board the plane home.
